Saturno TT fork seals in Poland.

Post by customhead » Sat Feb 04, 2023 8:03 am

Hi Everyone.

I am working on a Gilera Saturno TT with the lovely Ceriani endurance type forks but it seems impossible to find the fork seals here in Australia.

I have found the fork seals ( https://simmering.pl/en/corteco/31565-r ... 11811.html )
It is a Polish Company but their website does not allow for international shipping.
When I contacted the company and asked if they could send me 10 of these seals they agreed but said the shipping would be almost 160 EURO. :(

If anyone would be prepared to buy these seals for me and send to Australia I would be extremely grateful.
Please contact me via PM if you can,

Thank You,

Sean

as far as i can see they are 40x52x10mm fork seals
Ok, the second seal lip is 10,5mm high, but that should not cause any problems
Same as on the Saturno.
Also Ducati 600 Monster and SS 750S from 1988 to 1990 and 900SS from 1989 to 1990 have this size
Mayba also some japanese bikes. So it might be worth to ask in a local bike shop (Ducati?) for that size.
Beside this, the polish sealings seem to be 'normal' rotary Simmerrings. The also should be available in local shops for industrial support.
I suppose it would be better to buy some special fork seals.
Major brands around here are Oehlins, WPS, Kayaba, Sachs/ZF, Marzocchi...
You may also look for a set of outer dust rings
If you can not find something local, just turn back here ;)

Hi Joachim,

of course I can get 40 52 10 from my local supplier.
It is not an uncommon size but I was hoping to find the CORTECO versions for that 10.5 second seal lip.
Because the seal fits into the cap of the Cerianis I think the lip creates a 'second seal' as the tube slides past the opening of the cap.
I may be wrong, just trying to use original parts on this overhaul.

regards,

Sean

*idea* i understand

As Cortego is a member of the Freudenberg group they should be available somewhere here around.
The price in Poland looks rather cheap. Ok, taxes are missing.
But normaly such a ring would be around 5 to 10Euro.
Special fork seals would be around 15 to 20Euro.
Maybe the shipping to Germany is also 160Euro :)
I will ask
