Hello and welcome

the part is not for an Dakota but a 2stroke KK
Could be an ignition black, box, a rev limiter or an power valve box (if the kKK has something like this).

Starting problems coudl have various reasons :)
First of all... since when did you have the problems?
Did the engine ever start since you have it?
Just to see where to begin ;)

after a quick search it seems to be a side stand switch for several Gileras.
Also for the Dakota.
It prevents the engine from starting when the side stand is still out.
So that could be thereason for your problem :)
Usually it cuts the ignition from the elctrical power
Did you have a switch at your side stand?
If yes, take a multimeter and measure the ohms....
The switch should have 2 wires.Connect to the meter.
Side stand out, thesitch is open... you should read something close to infinite.
Side stand in, teh switch is closed... low ohmage. Not kiloohms or something like that
You may simply bridge the switch for a test.
Sometimes those switches caught som dirt an fail
