1988 Saturno Oil Level Sight Glass

1988 Saturno 350 Oil Level Sight Glass

Has anyone found an alternative for these? Mine has a crack through one of the bolt holes and leaks a little oil. I'm a bit afraid that it will let go on the road.

I tried emailing Bob Wright last week but haven't received a reply so far. Anyone have any other suggestions?

most of them have a crack ;)
Saturno Peter has got made a bunch of fine anodised alloy replicas last year.
But i suppose there is nothing left.
If you have access to a CNC mill....
Maybe he will offer the scetches he made.

ciao Joachim

PS about 20 years ago i bought such a milled alloy part from met-rik.de
But i think they did not sell parts any more. Website looks rather dead :(

Hi Joachim,

Is Saturno Peter on this forum? I looked but couldn't find any likely user names. If not do you have any contact details?

Many Thanks!
Mike

There are some red anodized ones left.
You read about the price?
Not cheap, but ever lasting ;)

You may send a pm to Peter

Mike, you need to phone Bob Wright - emails don't work:).
I have bought 2 oil level sight glasses from him 2021. The first one cracked on installation.
I was very careful with the second and it has been fine.
Better if you can get an anodised one though......

I also warmed the sight glass up in boiling water before installing.
Not sure if this helped with the brittle nature.
