Saturno water pump overhaul kit

Post by ernie42 » Tue Nov 19, 2013 7:28 am

Hi guys my name is Evan and I am writing from New Zealand.
I am helping a friend track down information about overhauling a 1990 Saturno 500 water pump-part number is 328172.
From reading some of the posts on the forum people mention that because of the rarity new pumps rebuilding is the only option.
I was wondering if any members could tell me if any rebuild kits are available and where they can be purchased-or failing that the bearing and seal serial numbers so that we could order them.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated
cheers
Evan

Hello

unfortunately the water pump is a little problem on our Gileras :(

If all the internal parts are ok you may try to repair the pump.
Some kind of informations you will find here

http://nordwest.rapidmouse.com/mecanique/pompe_a_eau/

There is a little video from Luca at youtube

http://www.youtube.com/user/gilera4t/videos

There are several members who have used the following sealings

burgmann industries gmbh & co.kg-d-82515 wolfratshausen

gleitring bt-pr/ar 12 (bpff)
art.044 196 000

gegenring bt-pf/c 26x12x5,5
(xp)
art.053 945 000

You can also send your pump to Switzerland for a repair ;)

Maybe Forum member Peter can still offer you a new pump

good luck ;)

ciao Joachim

Thanks Joachim, for your quick and detailed reply that was exactly the information we were after. I have checked with the local SKF supplier and the bearings are available. But as you point out the seals are the hard thing to get.
If we contact Burgmann Industries and quote the numbers you sent will that be enough for them -
or do we need to explain that they are for a Gilera waterpump?
thanks again Evan

They will not know what a Gilera is ;
Did you have a local Burgmann dealer near by?
