Hello Gilera Fans,
Does anyone happen to have a list of the paint codes for the different colours Gilera used on their bikes in the 1950's and 1960's?
I'm looking for details of the red used on the 1954 150 Sport.
Thanks

Re: Paint colours
Member Nozem is the expert on things like this. I'm sure he'll be along soon with a definitive answer.
In the meantime, Lechler was/is the paint supplier to Gilera. Here's a couple of links that might help:
http://www.motoclubgilera4t.it/forum/in ... pic=4368.0
http://www.lechler.eu/DesktopModules/Br ... ryId=42803
See p322 in the second doc. Unfortunately not definitive in terms of years applied esp for the early bikes, but the 'Rosso's' like GIL A1, A3, A4 and A5 are possibilities.

Re: Paint colours
Hi there,
Next to the links above there is also a Lechler list available of Gilera colour codes for the older models at http://www.lechler.eu/Portals/12/Area%2 ... er-ASI.pdf
Of course it is always best to have the original colour on the fuel tank measured by a painter. But if the original colours are not available anymore then the Lechler colours are a pretty fine alternative. The Dutch Aermacchi club had Lechler spray ten colour samples of the most common classic Gilera colours. So there is a choice of Black, Ivory, Silver and seven different red colour samples available.
Gil A1 Rosso Vermiglione
Gil A3 Rosso Furia
Gil A4 Rosso German
Gil A5 Rosso Targa
Gil A7 Avorio Giubileo
Gil A9 Nero Lucido
Gil 19 Argento Giubileo
Gil 20 Rosso Corallo
Gil 21 Rosso Vivo
Gil 1232 Rosso
Please send me a PM if you are interested in the colour samples.
