Hi,

My name is Joep and joined the forum today.

Past weekend I bought a 500 Saturno from 88. Before I’m going to ride it, I want to do a full maintenance on the bike. One of the things I want to check is the belt and water pump. Preferably, I want to mount a new pump and belt.

Reading some posts it seems that a water pump can not bought anymore. The belt also seems to be a hard item to find.

Did anybody experiment with an external electrical water pump and converting the original water pump into a roller only?

if i remeber right, Jan from the Netherlands has an electrical water pump in his race Saturno.
He ist also registered here but did not write. Maybe he is reading.
I'm not shure, but maybe Marco (nozem) has contact to Jan and Pim.

Not sure if I need a new waterpump. I will to inspect my pump the coming days, when I’m changing the belt.

I’m quite sure I will convert to electric when my pump is found to be broken and will ask Jan, Pim and Marco for their knowledge.
