Hi,
Thermometer isn't working any more. I checked the cable and it was broken. I noticed that there is a resistor. It looks like it has been added afterwards, connection doesn't look very reliable. What is the purpose of that resistor? Is it necessary? If so, I have to find a new one, it can't be soldered together with the wire.

I think that the resistor doesn't exists in RC 600 wiring diagram? I'm not very competent at these electrical issues

Fortunately both fans and fan switch are working properly.

Re: Thermometer cable (Gilera RC 600)
That seems to be the Luigi style
I think we had this dicussion some years ago (maybe it was in the old Gileraclub forum)
Also the Saturno has a gauge with or without this extra resistor.
I had a funny overheating probem at those times and thought it was a problem with the gauge and /or the resistor.
But it was something completly different.
Looks like Luigi has once decided to add this resistor.
Maybe because he used a different gauge from that on.
Or because he thought the temperature which was shown, was to somehow to high.
We will never find out, i think
ciao joachim

Ok, thanks. It's good to know that there can be this kind of special solutions. Luigi seems to be very creative

It looks like the wire at the resistor is broken.
You know how to find a new resistor?
The value of the resistance is coded in th color rings on the outside.
Red is 2.... a sfar as iremeber
The Gold ring at the end ist the tolerance. 5% if i .....
You will find the code somewhere in the net.
If not, drop me a line. I have it somehwere here around.
ciao Joachim

Yes, you're right. I have to find a new one. I think that I can solve the resistance e.g. with that calculator ==> http://www.digikey.com/en/resources/con ... ode-4-band. I have also a simple multimeter to measure the resistance. I bypassed that resistor so I will get some temperature readings.
Thanks anyway.
