Hello to all Gilera fans , my name is Dimitrije (Dimitij) , i recently bought 1993 Gilera GFR 125 , and i`m planning to fully restore it .
It`s in a really bad shape , i`m hoping i can get some advice from other Gilera fans ...
Thanks..
Anyhow where can i post a new thread about my GFR ?

Just right here
Good luck while finding parts. Everything seems to be very rare

If you need fairing parts, i can offer a source for replica parts from glass fibre.

Brake pads are an ease. You will find lots of them on ebay.
Gasket (paper ones) wil also fit from other 125ccm Gileras from that time.. Crono, CX...
A good source for things like this is forum member Gottfried Hahne .
The piston is hard to get
And expensive too
It's different from the other 125ccm Gileras (maybe the CX has the same one)
A good source should be Bob Wright in GB.
The cylinder is ok?
I ask because i think that you have a sized engine. Like most of the GFRs

If you only need a piston, you should take care of the letter with which it is marked on the upper surface (A to F or so). You will need the same diameter to fit into your cylinder.

I mean the whole gasket set , everything possible , i like when i`me doing something to do it wright or not to do it at all.
The cylinder is good , little warn out but ok , the lettering on the piston will be an issue , but i will try to read it , and i need an oversize piston.
Joachim thank you for the info , you seem like a cool guy !
