Hello everybody,

I been visiting this board a lot and seen so many nice things, like the XR1 125 by Marco, wow I love that topic and all the pics.

I own a Gilera Citta but that's not why I'm here afcourse

I have a Fantic oasis and no place to go on the internet and was hoping I could find some support and help here.
I did put on two Gilera parts and that are the engine protection and the kmph unit and rpm unit.
I bought these from Hahne and I'm really happy he sold me these, as an extra he gave me a authentic ful size Fantic protection pad, now thats awesome!!

Anyway I connected the kmph counter and the Rpm counter today but it doesn't really work like it should.

The Gilera rpm counter was connected to a the brown wire and the number one wire of the temperature gauge.

I connected it the same way on my Fantic but the RPM drops back to zero after 6000 rpms.

Anybody know what to do or how to connect in the right way?

here are some pictures of my Fantic:

Hey Marco,

It's a great honour to see a reply from you in my post, Your Gilera XR1 125 is so wonderful.
I have read your topic: Gilera XR1 125, 1988!!!! Trovata!!!! Finally!!!! , so many times and looked at the pictures so many times.

Did you see the Fantic Oasis often in Italy or did you own one?

I currently have a 80 cc setup but I wonder if there is like a 200 cc kit or more.

Do you know the connection wires for RPM counter?

Greetz,

Sonny

Hi Sonny!
I've see that there is a part of a Gilera XR1 on your Oasis!
Great! *thumb*

Well, about connection at your RPM clock....
... are the instruments, original Fantic brand?
Because sometimes some clocks are setted for just a particular RPM wire.....

Please tell me more!

Ciao

Is there anyone on this board that knows how to connect the two wires of the electronic RPM counter.
I think it must be easy but I do not know what wires to look for.
If I connect it to my lighting wires it works until 6000 rpm.

I have a scematic from my fantic but i cannot understand everything about it, only some parts.

Today something strange happened, the temp needle fell off, Anybody knows if you can open the unit so I can reattach the needle?

Hi Marco,
Yes I managed to fit that XR 1 engine protection on my Fantic Oasis, doesn't it look awesome :D
The instruments are not original Fantic, they are for a Gilera but the manufacturar is CEV who makes these for many and also Fantic.
originaly it is this one:

But the one I have now is almost same :D
I just need connect only two wires :( just two wires connect right and I will be so happy

Hi Sonny!
I've saw your electric diagram:
- Nr. 27 it's RPM clock and temperature gauge.
You must to see in wires that come out from CDI unit....
... look at a pair of free wires.... if you have all othe wires connected...
About gauge needle... yes you can open clock case....
I'll send to you a file with some images....

Ciao

Today I been working a bit on the Fantic because yesterday I smelled burning plastic, the black and white wire comming from the starter relais made contact with the red 12V wire, Both wires were old and must have been rubbing against eachother for a while, I disconnected the fuse but this made it worse so then I quickly disconnected my battery.
It was dark so i could no see the dammage.
This morning i seen that the black and white wire has completely burned through all the wires.

So I took the Fantic appart and traced down what was left of the black and white wire and replaced it and presto, no more fire.

Image
I also needed to do a lot of cleaning and I can tell you that it still ain't clean, So much dirt oil and sand and stuff between the plugs, aarrrgh.
Wish I had new wiring.

Anyway, New wire in place and because I dont trust it anymore (bad, bad wire *deibel* ) I let it run seperate from the wiring.

So what about my RPM counter ???
Well I found the answer that I was looking for all by myself *DanceÜ
It is really easy Just connect the + comming from the RPM to the RED wire on your CDI and the - on the chassis.
This simple amswer I was looking for giggle , so If anyone wants to connect a rpm counter to a Ducati energia CDI, the red wire is the one you need.

Now I need to fix my Temperature needle :( Please show me how to open this instrument
