URGENT: Need pictures of piston Gilera Freestyle 1993

Hello Friends,
I live in Turkey and have a Gilera Freestyle 125 but without a piston. As in Turkey we cannot find original Gilera piston we we have some other 2 Stroke 125 pistons available but not sure if they will fit. I think there are some holes to drill inside the piston but where?
Therefore I really really would appreciate if you can send me pictures of the piston. Also datas and dimensions would be great.
Many thanks!
Khan

Piston to find is very difficult for this type in Germany/Italy too. It`s the same then CX/Crono. Possible where on foot-gasket to make a distance-plate of arround 5 mm and to use a piston of SP01/02.

right now we tested a piston from a yamaha dt125. this piston does not close up at top of the cylinder, about 1cm free area.
now we can fill that up by a plate at the bottom of the cylinder but will that solve our problem?
another issue are the windows of the piston. we do not know if this really makes differences? the dt125 piston has two bigger windows at the carburator side.

If the engine is the same as in the CX and GFR (the clear cover of the outlet valve intends this) you may give Bob Wright in GB a chance.
At least in the last year he still could deliver original pistons.
No A size but from B upwards.
If you need, I can send a picture and the measurements make the fitting cylinder bore for the piston. But not before Thursday.
To make something else fit seems to be not easy due to this not very common design of the piston and the cylinder/cylinderhead.
But if you have success... let us know
ciao and good luck, Joachim

hi joachim,
would be nice if you can send me very detailed pictures and datas of the piston. maybe we can find a solution then.
ordering from GB is too expensive and a piston price can easielly go over 500eur. this due to turkish import costs.

Maybe tomorrow I'm there again where my cam and the sized piston are

I will take some photos and measurements....

If I remember right the costs for the piston have been about 100Euro what is not really cheap for such a little piston

Would sending you an sized piston also cost so much?
Unfortunatelly the holiday saeson is over.... I would have asked one of my turkish pupils to take it with him while visiting grandma or other relatives
ciao joachim

many thanks joachim about your friends!
the bike still stays with open cylinder cos we cannot find a piston. we are now ordering some wiseco pistons but unfortunately wiseco do not have gilera in their list. do you from which other bike we can take a piston and it will fit 100%?

Beg your pardon... I just have forgotten
The piston is from Asso marked in the inside with 'ASSO W 2829'
On the topside it's marked with 'CX' and the diameter group (from A to F)
But we (Markus and I) weren't able to find something beside the ones from Bob Wright.
BTW what happend with the old piston???
Completelly blown away
ciao Joachim
