Broken cambelt

Post by gileraman1 » Fri Apr 14, 2006 4:32 pm

Hi all,
Just replaced broken belt on 91 RC600C. All seemed well, tensioner OK but just had to push 2 miles home again :( as belt broken a second time!!!!
Anyone had a similar problem. I have a spare but what, if anything, am i doing wrong?
PS I won't be needing to go to the gym today

Not the belt!

Took the ... plastics off again. Not the belt
See photo Image
I was in too much of a hurry and must have forgotten to replace the lower bolt holding the pickup on. Now pickup is mincemeat and the flywheel nibs look a bit worse for wear as well. Only two-wire (inductive) pickups in my heap of spares  Looks like another phonecall to Bob Wright.
Ah well - I'm off to Italy. It'll have to wait!!
Ciao a tutti
