Do they really force you to put those "L"-signs on your bike?
As Thorkill correctly points out, alas they do (make me put them up) That's the price for not passing my big bike test back in November. Mind you, if I had passed, I would have been riding my CBR600F so would never have bought Gary in the first place.

As for the placing of the front L plate on the KK (a solid plate is attached to the fork on the Rebel), this is where the workshop were going to put the plate anyway, so I will be pleading ignorance if I get stopped. I don't really mind where it goes, as long as it's not on the screen, and I'm not quite sure where else to put it :?

Hopefully though, with spring just around the corner, I will take my test again soon and this time pass :D

Hia Guys, it's been a while since I was on the forum and although things are still chugging along, there have been no major changes to Gary (my KK) other than that he has been polished a few times  I do have a price for his repaint, and a price for the frame to be powder coated, but lack of both funds and time have meant that he will probably be waiting til next winter. I have managed to gert a new set of wheels through Bob Wright and they are going on next Monday so that I can get Gary ready to go down to Leicester for the Vintage Motorcycle meeting in July. I currently have a pair of Pirelli MT75s on the bike which I have found a little hard. They take quite a while to warm up and can be a little slippery in the wet, so I have been looking for a replacement set for the new wheels, and to have the Pirelli's put back on the old rims once they have been refurbished. The problem has been trying to find an alternative. The front, with it's 100/80 16 size is especially problematic. Most tyres places have been offereing me exactly what I already have, i other words another set of Pirelli MT75s. I have noticed today that Continental do a 'City' range and a 'Go' range. Although they do my sizes, the speed rating is a P (up to 93mph/150km/h) whereas my current ones are T rating (up to 118mph/190km/h). My problem now is:

Is the Continental going to be a stickier tyre?

Does anyone here have any experience of Continentals?

I have already ridden Gary at over 90mph, so know that he is well capable of more than the P speed rating 8)

Hi Deana,

I've just put new tyres on my Saturno and gone from Dunlop Radials to Bridgestones (non-radial). In my humble opinion, the Bridgestones are far superior and my bike doesn't need radials, so I've also saved some money in going non-radial.

They warm up quickly, appear to be a lot harder wearing than the Dunlops and are pretty good in the wet as well.

Maybe Bridgestone have the right sizes for your KK.

Most of the fairing is in bad condition but the rest should be ok.
Almost a year ago, Gilermad made the above offer, which was then corrected to say that it was parts for an MX-1. I've been gone for ages, and I'm sorry for that, but yesterday I collected Max my MXR from the workshop and he is now running, and actually has passed his MOT. I will try to do a write up on a new thread over the next few days, but in the mean time, Gileramad, do you still have some of the MX-1 parts? The MXR I eventually bought was another project and lots of parts need to be either repaired or replaced, so I am now beginning to trawl to see what is available :)

It's nice to be back, although it'll probably take me ages to read through the hundreds of posts which have been made over the past few months
