Gilera sp01 Deposit

Post by Zanon » Mon Feb 25, 2013 9:46 am

Hello everybody from center Spain
I just bought a SP01 two week ago.
The bike was in a very poor condition and I am restoring it.
My problem came with the petrol tank.
As the previous owner wsa using oil mixed with the petrol , all the automatic mixing system is void.
I managed to find out how it works but my problem arised with the tank , too many rubber hose on its lower part . As much as four .
May any one send me me a picture o dwg of the correct setup for them.

Thank you for your time and cooperation

Hello

first at all... welcome ;)

I can offer a picture of the fuel tank of my GFR. It should be the same as yours (and other 2 stroke 125ccm Gileras from that time)
Hope that helps.
If not, just ask again ;)

Sorry i am in a hurry, because i have some other things to do

ciao Joachim

PS did you have a workshop manual for the SP01?

Thank you for the picture.
It makes me a picture of the lay out of the tubes.
I have a workshop manual for the Crono. If you need it let me know.
From the oil deposit came out two tubes.
May you tell where they finish.
One of them must goes to the oil pump, but the other one, where it finish ?

Thank you for your time

*danke*

both the upper clear tubes are breather tubes for the tank filler caps (better said for the room around the filler caps) You may see the water in them ;)

The fuel tank has his breather tube on the upper side of the tank.
The oil tank breather tube is the bigger one of the tubes on the left side. It is routed somewhere down, so leaking oil will not reach your rear tyre ;)
The smaller tube is routed to your oilpump on the right side of the engine.
Between the last two tubes you can see the electrical sensor for the oil level warning light.
It is good to have a workshop manual. You may check and adjust your oilpump carefully, not to have a seized engine after your first test ride ;)
There must also be a manual out there for the SP01 in the internet. If you don't find it, just drop me a line.

ciao Joachim
