Gilera Saturno Water Pump

Post by povalinho » Sat Sep 03, 2011 10:12 pm

I've just joined as I own a 1988 Gilera Saturno, one of the two taken by the factory to run in the Isle of Man TT races in 1988. Both bikes took part in practice but only one raced. I have the one that just did practice. Currently I have a big problem with the water pump. It started leaking nearly a year ago, it was sent to Italy to be repaired and hasn't come back yet. I am very frustrated as I haven't ridden the bike all year. Does anyone have a water pump for sale or could give me advice on where I might get one?

due to the fact that the waterpump is one of the 'weak points' of the Gilera engines from that time, it will be very hard to find one of these pumps :(
Nobody will give away his spare pump(s) ;)
Next problem, if you have no pump it will be not possible to restore one (that is the common method, which is done by several guys here)

If you need a complete water pump you may ask here

Peter is a member of this forum too.

good luck, Joachim

PS.... 500ccm and 600ccm engines have different water pumps. Take care to get the right diameter
