Cam Belt for XRT 600

Post by conu.nae » Thu Nov 25, 2010 7:41 pm

Hi,

It was great to find a dedicated Gilera forum, I need to find a replacement (new if possible?) cam belt for my XRT600. Please, if you know of any source in Europe where I can get the cam belt from I would realy appreciate it!
It's a great bike and I just hate to see it fall appart just because I cannot find parts here in Romania (I could barely find an air filter that matched). Which reminds me! If anyone knows of a suitable replacement for the cambelt from a different model/brand, by all means, don't be shy ! :)

Danke!
Ride on!

Hi Conu'Nae,

Normally Gottfried Hahne got most of the spare parts you need.
Have a little patience if he doesn't reply immediate. (he has some health problems or is always busy)

Otherwise try the search-engine of the forum!!!!!

Welcome ;)

You will also need a flywheel puller.
Maybe Gottfried has still has some of them.
If not.... i somewhere have a little drawing.
If you know somebody with a turning machine.....

BTW never ever use a old belt. This may end up in some 'headache'

Gileristi are as fast as Gileras ;)

We also have a group at Yahoo. There you can find a spare parts list.
Oilfilter and airfilter are easy to get :)
If you need i will post those informations here (or send them per email)

If somebody (Georg?) can tell if the XRT airfilter is the same as on Nordies.... you can use a Fiat FIRE filter, or a replacement K&N filter (which is expensive, but washable)

:D
Hi,
unfortunately I don't have a Nordi,so I can't compare
the filters, giggle
but I think they are the same.If you have an acess to
x-bay(don't lett them make an X for an e)
you may search under XRT 600,there are not only
filters available.

And I have no XRT to compare

But i also think that they are the same. At least the K&Ns at xbay are sold as filetrs for Nordies, XRTs and so on.

K&N 33-2544
Seems to be that this filter fits for Nordwest/Cape, RC/C and XRT.

ciao joachim

@Georg if you have something to measure.... I must somewhere have an old filter, or can measure the Nordie filter when i try to find the strange noise next week
