New CX Owner
I recently bought myself a CX from ebay here in the UK.
I really didn't need another bike, in fact I was trying to sell two Morini Darts (buyer backed out) and in all I have about 13 bikes (Cagiva, Morini, Motobi and now a Gilera).
The CX was running when I bought it, although it had been off road for a year. It went through it's MOT fine, but then the clutch started dragging when the engine was hot. A strip-down revealed a clutch that was worn, but within limits and no obvious cause. Cleaning and re-assembling and filling with fresh gearbox oil seems to have done the trick and I rode it to work today.
Longer term, the engine has to go. It may perform pretty well, but I'm used to the endless power spread (3000-10,000rpm) of a Morini V-twin. A Nordwest engine might be nice, but I think it will probably be converted to battery power to replace the Cagiva Freccia electric conversion I've recently sold. There is at least one electric CX racing in Italy.
Of course, I could buy another one and do both (If I can find one for the right price).

No, not considering I paid £1000 (approx. 1300 Euro) for the one I have!Hi Paul!

I know I was lucky to get one for that price though. You can find bargains on ebay, if you only buy the bargains.
I'll swap a Morini Dart for a CX if anyone is interested!
Wow! This is The bargain!EVguru wrote:.... I paid £1000 (approx. 1300 Euro) for the one I have!

Mad bugger that I am, I've just bought another CX.
With the rolling frame I bought (still in Holland at the moment I think), that makes three!
It's another ebay job, from the East coast of the UK this time rather than the West. It wasn't as cheap as the first and it's not quite as good (better in some places, worse in others), but at £1500 still not too bad.
It's now full speed ahead for the Electric CX project. Impetus had been given to the project by the announcing of www.ttxgp.com There is to be an electric class at next years Isle of Man TT!
Much work to be done and a lot of money to be raised, but I'm confident a really decent machine can be built.
P.S. I've still got two Morini Darts to sell!

Re: New CX Owner
The electric project never got started due to ill health.
I've been fixing other peoples Morinis and making bits for friends race bikes rather than getting on with my won stuff.
One of these days.....
