first of all... welcome. We are getting international more and more :)

You know that you also will need an flywheel puller?
If you don't have one, you may also ask Gottfried for one.
Or if you have the posibility to get one made, or could make one by yourself.... you can ask me for a scetch.

Yes it is.... The belt is behind the flywheel, so you will have to remove this.
You are common with changing timing belts?
If not..... it may end up in big damage. So be carefull or ask someone who has more experience.

good luck, Joachim

Hi,
yes because otherwise you woudn't get the timebelt on.
But watch out that you have all marks set right, piston upper position, flywheel mark at mark of housing (about at 14:00 time scale) and the wheels at the top (don't know the name) right side 15:00 and left side 09:00.
Watch for right tension.
You must not bild in the belt when some of the marks doesn't fit.
so far

How often do you change timing belt? I've done 11000km in 10 months now and according to repair manual I must change it every 12000km. Is this realy necessary?

It's a rather high risk to do it not. If the belt breaks... and it sometimes did this.
The risk will be not so high if you have done the kilometers in a short time.
But.. it is still there.
Mostly the belt breaks if the bike has stood for a long time.
It's your choice
