Well guys i always wonder what you.... German speakers are discussing on the German forum,....and sometimes i even use the web translation available online,.....but then i thought,.....most people where speak English and why not the forum be open to everyone ( worlwide English), and why do we have to be separate according to its own language ?
To the administrator i let this issue and to all of you to think about it !

Maybe there is something like a 'historical reason'
Bjoern was amoung the founders of the Gilera Club Dreieich.
He also started a internet plattform which was the usual collection of pictures and so on.
Those where the days when the english GeN was still allive. So both have some kind of platform in their own languages.
Later on there are two mailing lists at Yahoo which are still alive, but not very much used :)
In the meantime the old Gileraclub forum appeared and was a full sucess.
At least amoung the german speaking people who prefered (like I too) to discuss in a language which make it easy for them to talk about technical problems.
Now the british GeN platform unfortunately suffered.....
Some of the members switched to the german forum. At least those who somehow understand the language ;)
For those who don't, Bjoern started the international part of the forum. With not soooo much traffic.
I think it would not be a problem if you ask in english in the german forum. Maybe you can use an online translator to imagine what we are talking about and ask your questions in englisch. I think that you will somehow get a answer.
Are we not all talking 'Gilera' ?
I allways remember a situation at Danielas meeting.... a guy from Belgium standing around with his big photo collection in his hands talking to some other guy from germany. The German is talking german, the Belgian answers in english :)
And it works fine

ciao joachim <the German and greetings to Geert  >

Hi,

the reason why we have two separate forums is quite easy to explain. First in fact we only had one forum for all gileristi and all topics but the germans dominated it so people not speaking german had no interest in posting or thought those guys only speak german because most posts are german. That was the point when I decided to add a "anything-but-german" section to the board and as far as I can see it is steadily growing and most topics get answered. And what I like most about it is that our friends that are active in other boards or clubs (italian Bi4 board or UK Igotta Gilera Owners Club) share infos with us.

Everybody is welcome *drinks*
