Hey and a question!

Post by callelundin » Mon Jul 24, 2006 9:04 am

Hey everybody, im a new Gilera RC 600 owner and i bought my ride yesterday! :D :D :D
I live in south sweden, i maybe can come down to the Nurburgring meeting. That vould be a lot of fun!

Anyway, i do have a small problem with my RC 600, when i run out in he country the watertemprature is perfect, standing just tiny over the middel in the green area. But when i come into the City it starts to get hot, when i was waiting at a redlight yesterday it was almost all the way upp to red.

Do anybody know what can be the problem, maybe the instrument is showing wrong? is there some standard problem? Its a brand new water pump on the bike, but they have modified the frontbumper.

Instead of the orginal one on the wheel this new shade is sitting mounted just under the lights, se the picture and you know what i mean.

Maybe it blocks the cool air to the radiator? or maybe its something else..

Maybe you would like to dismount the front fender and go out for a test ride?
Another thing might be some air in the coolant system.
You should open the tiny screw on the rigt side of the engine. Just above on this black plastic part with the water hoses. See if some air bleeds out then.

good luck, Joachim

Hi,

did it just touch the red section or was it deep in the red section?
I think if it just touches the red section or is in the lower red part AND the fans start blowing it is normal for summer. Else you should check the fans.
My Nordie used to cook my legs at the traffic lights ;)

gaaawwww... Fans starts just before the red area, but i dont like that it goes so deep into the green area. Is that really normal?

My temp is allmost allways just before red, even if the fans are running.

And i cant find that screw Joachim is talkning about, cant anybody take a picture and show me were it is?

regards Carl
