Starting and starter noise

Post by uffejuul » Fri Jun 30, 2006 2:36 pm

Hi
I am new to Gilera and I got a Nordwest. I think it is the only one here in Denmark. It is very hard to start, it is something not to touch the throttle and fiddle a little with the choke. Then I might be lucky to get it running. The starter makes a lot of noise when activated. Is that all normal for this model or what is wrong ?
Best Regards
Uffe

That's normal on some Nordies.
The starter makes a lot of noise when activated.
Should i say that's normal to? Unfortunatelly it seems to be.
That's the starter clutch. You may watch out for a new (expensive) one or you should repair the old one.
If you can do things like this by yourself.... search the forum for the KTM strtaer clutch (try also KTM Freilauf) you may find a parts number.
If you would like to get it repaired get in touch with Mauri (Maurizio Baeumle) ... aslo search the forum for the adress.
Good luck...

For the do it yourself job there are manuals available.
On www.rc600.de in german
And if I remember right there is also something in french online at the Rapidmouse site.
So it's your choice what you would like better :)
