Oil level

How do guys check the oil level on the RC600/Nordwest engine, since i got mine used and very bad condition, i haven´t figured out how to check it, am i missing something on my bike engine ?

Hello,
on the left side of the enginenear the gear lever is an oval
plastik-window-it should be clear,at my XRT I can see the level
with a torch if someone is holding the bike in level.
Gilera is great but not easy.

as there is only a 'min' mark you should keep in mind not to fill in tooooo much oil.
You will find this around your rear tyre somtimes :lol:

Well, i don´t have that plastic window on my engine, it was replaced by a metal one, so its dificult to check the oil level this way.
Any ideia where i can get an original plastic one ????

There is just another thread in the german forum about this.
There is a state of the art CNC milled part available from www.met-rik.de .
Or say it more precise... it *was*
Seems to be not clear if it still is.
I`ll let you know if, or what is still available.
