Have you tried Bob Wright in Weston s Mare yet? (01934 510333)
If he can't help, you could try Bike Care, 55 Richmond Road, St George, Bristol (0117 939 7750) ask for Jim McLean, he's a Gilera owner and always ready to help.

As the bike is from europe, I would suggest that it's a standard metric nut. Ok... thats hard to handle for brits
You have to measure the outer diameter of the thread in mm.
If you have only a inch gauge.... you will have to convert it to mm.
Next you need the pitch of the thread. This is the differenz from on peak to the next. Most time it's easier to measure the differenz between more peaks and to divide the measurement through the numbe rof the peaks.
With this you have to go to the next hardware shop and ask for a metric nut M (outer diameter) x (pitch)
If you are through with the measurement ask again here for help.... may be it's a 'standard' thread.
If you cannot get one... ask again... maibe I have something around.
good luck, Joachim
