GILERA PIUMA and BIMOTA GB1

Post by Patrice » Tue Jan 11, 2005 4:14 pm

Hello everyone. Congratulations for your forum which opens in Europe
I'm sorry i don't speak english very well.
I live in North East of France, in the department of the Vosges -88-. I 'm owner of 1Gilera Saturno and 2 Gilera Nordwest - 1 manufactured en1991 with the external magnesium motor cover and 1 other manufactured in 1993 equipped with carry-packages -.
I would like to know which are the differences between Saturno and Saturno Anniversary
I would also like information on GILERA PIUMA of 1990:
_ How much motor bikes manufactured?
_ Which is the cubic capacity of this motor bike?
_ Which are the problems encountered during the development of this motor bike?
_ can one still buy some, at which prices?

Does somebody have informations about the BIMOTA GB1, which was equipped with engine GILERA of 750R PARIS-DAKAR?
Did somebody manufacture counterparts of Gilera Piuma or Bimota GB1 from engine of Nordwest or RC?
Best reagrds Patrice.

Salutations

Hi Patrice,

i wrote to Bimota in 2000 because i didn´t find any GB1-information on their homepage and here is their answer:
Thank you for your message.
With pleasure we send you the photo of this prototype. It was built only in
two pieces to contest the Supermono Italian Championship. Only one of them
is left and is now owned by Gilera.
Best regards.

Articles/pictures on the BG1

Hi fellow Gileristi,
I have just got hold of two English articles on the Bimota Gilera a guy very kindly scanned and sent me. I would be happy to forward the scans to those who are interested (if my feeble computer skills can manage it!) It is about 6MB all together
For a preview see my little Gilera website:
http://gileraman1.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/
I dont think you can save the pics from there
Enjoy! :D :D :D

Hello Gileraman!

You can easily share your files by putting the pictures on your wanadoo server (with FTP) and copy/paste the url link here so we can download it. That would be great. I'm working on a project like that "Gee Bee". :)

In the book "Gilera, the complete story" by Mick Walker, there's nothing about this Bimota.

Thank you.

GB1
