I am new to my 1979 Gilera TG1 and need to replace fork seals and possibky bushes. I have partially stripped down the forks, but needto remove damper rod before pulling out the seals. As there is no external bolt on bottom of fork, I assume a screw requires removing from down inside the tube? I looked down the inside of the tube with a borescope and there appears to be a reverse cross head screw? If so, where can I obtain a special driver tool?
Thanks for any help!

Re: TG1-125 Fork Dismantling
Ok - so I now have managed to dismantle the forks, after realising there is no bottom damper restraints and the ‘screw’ heads I saw in the bottom of the forks seem just to locate the damper tube.
So I have new seals coming and will shortly need to refill with fork oil.
The next question is what weight oil and what level or qty do I refill with? Anyone know?

Hello Redmister,
Google is your friend, try searching on "Gilera TG1 forcella" or "Gilera TG1 manutenzione".
I found this article on the Gilera Bi-4 website; http://www.gilera-bi4.it/download/Rivis ... %20125.pdf
According to this article the front fork of your Gilera TG1 needs 180cc oil per leg (gambo)
Greetings,
Nozem
