Hi Guys,

can anyone tell me if the timing belt ***Dayco 137RXR180*** for the xrt600 is the same for the 1988 saturno 500? I live about 15mins from the Australian Dayco factory and need a new belt. I did a search on their page and couldnt find that number.

thanks,

Sean

usually it is listed as a 'Dakota 350' belt.
Fits to all Gilera 4strokers with timing belt.
Good luck for getting one.
Here around it seems that Dayco did not like to sell something :(

Well I contacted Dayco here in Australia but they said they have no motorcycle belts, only car.

So I have been into GATES' head office and talked to the products manager who took the belt and is going to try and find one for me....

wow, not as easy as I thought...

That's the well known answer. Haven't i warn you?

Good luck. Maybe the australian answer is different to the european.
But i suppose it isn't ;)
This belt is a special design of Pirelli (later Dayco) for Gilera. Not a standard industrial belt.
So i think you will not get anything from someone else than Dayco.
That is what i found out.
Dayco Germany has listed the belt on their website.
So i asked them for the adress of a shop where to buy.
Got some adresses to visit. Nobody did know that belt. Funny ;)
The asked their high tech computers.... nothing listed.
So Dayco is selling parts which are not known by their own dealers.

Beside this, Gottfried at Hahne Power is a good adress to buy.
But i don't know about the shipping costs around half the world.

ciao Joachim
