Gilera in the press

Post by geert pardon » Tue Dec 27, 2011 9:25 pm

Hi all,

I just get a message that in the number of december from the magazine "moto légende" is an article about mono's.
It's a comparison of the Saturno with Y*m*h* SRX, and the H*nd* XBR.
The French Gileraclub found some mistakes in the article but they tell that in the next issue there will be a reply.
thursday I'll have my copy and then I let you know it's interesting....

Stupid me  (yes yes I know myself) it's of course in the januar issue.

I doubt it's the same article because the pictures inside it's a member of the French Gileraclub.(maybe same article and new pictures???)
I'll see if I can find my old scanner (and hopes it still works) and make a scan.
It's an article of 11 pages.

Next issue of the Dutch magazine "retro-biker" is going to have an article of Gilera Saturno. they announce that the article is about almost all the Saturno's who are still i Holland. (maybe Jan knows more???)
Anyhow I'm looking forward.

I've got an Anniversary and I live in Holland, but never spoke to someone who is writing an article about her.

I was in Assen this year. Great to see lots of Saturno's there. 9, if I counted correctly.
The last time I rode there myself in 2004, there were only 2.

Ciao, Hans

Hi Gileristi,

I was told that the Saturno article is being written by Ad van Boheemen and will be in the next issue of the Dutch magazine Classic & Retro.
Unfortunately I don't know exactly when it will be on sale, but as soon as it comes available you can order your copy at

https://www.tijdschriftnu.nl/tijdschrif ... ssic-retro

I hope to see you all in Beusichem next sunday, I will be there too at the Aermacchi clubstand *thumb*

Greetings,
Nozem rulez

if you would like to see your pics in the anual Gileraclub calendar please send them per e-Mail to me.
The quality of the pics here in the forum is not so good ;)

Hello HP,

According to my information there are 28 Gilera Nuovo Saturnos registered in The Netherlands at the moment.
I don't know how many of those are Anniversaries. And I expect that not all Saturnos around will have a license plate...

Hello HP,

Yes I was in Melderslo, together with Ruud Havik (on his BMW).
A few years back I bought both his Saturno's. He unfortunately crashed both of them.
I've got most parts to restore them, but am still searching for a fairing, fairing mounting part and side stand.

I bought a copy of RetroBiker (Belgian magazine) for the article the Saturno, but there was not such an article.
There was article about a Nettuno, but that was not what I was looking for.
When I should have looked better at the picture in Geerts post, I could have seen that the magazine was called Classic&Retro.
So don't make my mistake and get the latest copy of Classic&Retro.

Ciao, Hans

Does anybody have sidestand for my Nuovo Saturno?

*durchdreh* sorry my fault.
I got the 2 magazines the same time.
Lucky in the retrobiker there was also a Gilera article. (and for those who want to search, you can see my RC in the back of an other picture)
The other magazine is not out yet but should be very soon.

Hans,

Probeer ook eens op de Gilera Club de France site.
Daar zitten ook enkele Saturno-adepten.
Succes.....geert
