What size of jets do you use in the TM35B65 on a Nordwest ?

Hi,

Is there somebody who know the hight of tne needles in the Mikuni TM34 on a Nordwest (with KN air filters) ? what are your settings ?

Hello,
is your engine in the original performance? Do you use the original cams?
Is it an Nordwest or Nordcape?
Then use a 110 - 115 main jet and fix the needle in the second position from below.
The staring jet shall be 12,5 or 15 and the pilot-fuel-screws 1/8 to 1/4 turn open.

Hi,

My engine is 100 % original with original exhaust. It's a Nordwest.

I've choose sport air filters (like KN) ans Gothfried give me the council of take 125 and 130 main jets. I wisper that's good.

What sort of air filters have you ? original ?

High again,
to begin the carburator setup, the main jet is not the important thing. First you have to make sure, that the engine will start without any problems. Use a new spark plug and a battery, which is in best condition. Herefore it is important, to put the setup not in the direction "rich". It's better to begin in "lean" and the spark plug isn't getting wet. Remember: Fuel isn't cheap!

If the engine runs, you can try other possebilities in the "rich" direction.
The same way have you to go with the A-pump! That's what i mean with "my" setup. If someone else has made other experiences, so it is no problem for me. The most mistakes will be made with too much fuel! You blow out the "candle light" and the search to the reason why will need hours and some spark plugs.
If all is mounted, begin with the following procedure:
- Open and close the throttle two times (to use the A-pump)
- Pull the choke and then
- Start the engine and use the throttle only a (very) little bit
- Hold the engine "alive"with the choke and when the engine is getting warmer, you can adjust the other settings. No more throttle than necessary!
It needs a little feeling and experience...........
