Paris-Dakar

Back in 1989 in the Tunisia Rally, Medardo won in the Silhouette class, coming seventh overall, Mandelli won in his class, overall ninth in the Faraoni Rallies and Medardo came first in class, eigth overall in that years Paris-Dakar. These were all on RC600s.

The RC750 was developed to "win" the Paris-Dakar (which became the Paris-Cape Town in 91-92), however both entered 750s failed to finish. The first victory was Medardo in 92 in the Tunisia rally and then Picco won the Faraoni rally. Gilera did not enter the 750 in the next Paris-Dakar and pulled the plug on the whole project in 1993.

I just can´t understand why Gilera stoped producing machines like these and also like Nordwest/Saturno/RC600C,.....with some improvments on the BI-4 it would be one of the best in its class,......, more,....why they stoped to produce spares for all these bikes,....., just can´t understand,......, mainly because the market it still exists today !
