My RC

Post by Marco Dallabrida » Tue Sep 14, 2004 5:45 pm

This is my gloriuous Rc. Plastics are in bad conditions because I'm often in offroad, and so I' often down. The original, good plastics are now "under conservation".
Start is only by kick, without lift-valve and so is necessary to use a special procedure, he he he.
To get more lightness I have tahen out the start-engine with the relative gear and changed the Battery with a condenser. In this way I got 9 kg!!!!

And now.....
I'm not able to add a foto....

Condenser is a "Trobo", 33.000 hf, 40 vcc, -40c° +85c°, L.ef. 90A, 100Hz 85c°.
I have no problems with it after about 5000 km....

Hello Marco, thank you
I'll try to find it in France.
Do you know if it's possible to adapt another tank on RC 600, like Honda XR or another kind which is compatible with the seat?
You seem's a specialist of RC 600 and I asked me for a long time if acerbis or another accessoirist made plastics for RC600 or RC 600R in Italy?
Bye

Unfortunately, there are no special accessories in Italy for RC 600.
I think that it is almost impossible to adapt a tank of another bike without modyfing frame and seat....
To find special parts is perhaps more possible in Germany, where I saw that people appreciate old Gilera much more than in Italy..

 tanks:

I'm trying to adapt some KTM-tanks from the Adventure series. They capture 18 and 28 litres.
Maybe I can post fotos tomorrow!
I think it is possible without large changes. One must improove a tank-holder on the upper frame and as it seems, the seat can stay.
More later 8)

Here we are:

This is a RC600 with a KTM Advanture 28l-tank

I have to try a few more things - maybe I post some pics tomorrow.
So far, the problems are:
1) Seat fits but you have space between seat and rearframe, about 2-4cm.
2) The switches on the right side of the handlebars must be moved 1cm to the left - otherwise you get problems with your turning circle

That's all...

Und ich bin mir bewußt, dass es Gileristi gibt, denen KTM-Teile an einer Gilera gegen den Strich gehen. Aber ich sag' ja auch nichts gegen SM-Umbauten

Perfect, but rightly delete immediately that KTM stikers!
Anyway... this tank is well vincolated to the frame or not? Because with a lot of shocks you could loose it!

The tank can be fixed with the normal "tank-holder"-screw in the middle of the frame, under the seat!
Another holder, over the machine must be improoved.
