Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

Dear HP, I finally got the water pump fixed by the local Ducati dealer. I haven't really had a chance to test it out because when I put everything back together again I find that the starter motor sometimes doesn't engage the engine to turn it over and fire it up. I don't know if it's coincidental o...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

dear HP, well long story short. The people who supply the bearings etc messed around for so long that I got the water pump back from them. I took it to the Ducati specialist Byron Bay and he said he could fix it, and he did. Replace the bearings, seals were still good. God willing, job done. Thanks ...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

Dear HP, thank you very much for the translation and photographs. I took the whole lot to the company that supply the bearings and seals and they said that it would be no problem to do the job. I can only hope that it turns out well. I wonder, if you are familiar with or know anything about the deco...

HP, yes I looked at your YouTube video on the thermostats and I did put the video to work and my my thermostat works okay. Thank you. I cannot get an English translation of the http://nordwest.rapidmouse.com/ video, which would be great in helping me understand how to put it all back together. Googl...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

HP, thanks for the info, I get on the telephone this morning and make enquiries to see if I can get bearings and seals in Australia. And then, take Joachim's advice and dismantle the pump and see what parts need replacing. And replace the lot if I can get new parts available here. I am not going to ...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

Dear HP, thank you very much for the link. Advise me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like my best option would be to send my water pump to the guy in France and have him fix it. Please tell me if I'm wrong, and if you think it is the best way of going about it. could you please send me their postal addr...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

Joachim, I read a post you did Tuesday, November 19, 2013 concerning the overhaul kit that you recommended Evan to buy to repair the water pump. I'm presuming that the 1990 model has same water pump as the 1988 model. If so would the parts numbers you recommended to him do the job in repairing my 19...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

Hello, you 'r dreaming! Me translate anything into anything but bad English (Australian) is just not going to happen. By the way, the German girl DOES NOT live with me! So I do not have a live-in German translation service! with benefits. She used to own a Ducati (white) but she sold it and now has ...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

HP, I just about wet myself laughing, just what you need when messing with motorcycles. Thank you very much for the day electrical background. I'm not very good electrically, so thank you. I used to employ a young German girl and when I mentioned learning German she just laughed! And said my English...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

Good morning gentlemen, or whatever hour of the day it is where you are? I got the water pump out, no damage done in removing it? It was very clean but when I looked in through the access hole I could see that there was a orange/red material shredded inside with little bits sticking out. I presume t...

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

Re: Saturno Owners in Australia

Dear Jochim and HP, thank you very much for all the information. Leaded petrol can't be bought in Australia any more so I have resorted to using 95 octane with a product called Flash lube, valve saver fluid, led replacement upper cylinder lubricant, 1 ml to every one litre. No bubbles with open fill...
